PM Calls on Monk to Explain Why He Drank Wine and Was Involved with a Woman

SIHNAOUKVILLE: Prime Minister Hun Sen alluded to a scandal involving someone he called “Ah khmao,” which is said to be in reference to the monk, Buth Buntenh, during his speech at the inaguration ceremony of Road 146B connecting to Road 148 in Sihanoukville on Thursday morning, 22 December.

Prime Minister Hun Sen stated that he had received information from the United States that a man, referred to as “Ah khmao,” had drank red wine and been involved with a woman, a matter which was considered scandalous because the man is a monk.

"Who drinks red wine? And who was the widow [you were with] that night? Before going out, who was the widow with that night? Was she with Ah Khmao?” said Prime Minister Hun Sen.

The Prime Minister said that he received this information from a Cambodian-American who calls himself "Ah Srokeal."
